Cinco de Mayo - Feliz

Most of us will party at the drop of a hat.  By "party" I mean just to celebrate no matter the reason.  It makes us feel good.  Our favorite foods, favorite beverages, and whether a large or small group it's just PLAIN FUN!

While it's not really a major holiday in Mexico, as compared to other holidays, it's about FOOD and FUN.  Pinatas, games, laughter, and brightly colored costumes which as we all know is the best medicine right?

Cinco de Mayo, what is it?  It's the fifth of May.  It is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867).

Whether or not you have games, Pinatas, brightly colored costumes, music and dancing or just relax with a few folks here are some ideas for your celebration.
Traditional foods might include (FRESH FROM YOUR GARDEN):

1) Mole PoblanoMole Poblano may be the most consumed dish in Puebla for Cinco de Mayo.
2) ChalupasChalupas, an iconic Poblano street food, have a resemblance to tostadas and are the perfect antojito for any Cinco de Mayo celebration.
3) Chiles en NogadaChiles en nogada is an iconic dish of Mexico. It is said to have been invented in the convent of Santa Monica for Agustin de Iturbide‘s visit to Puebla in 1821.
